AIM Interview: Kelly Clarkson – The First Chapter
This was my first experience with an AIM Interview, I did this together with my boss, but he pretty much was my typist and everything came out of my request, though I’m sure based on the interview, no one would be surprised.
BrendanInMusic: hey hey

BrendanInMusic: so where are you right now?
beehindkelyseyes: i’m in texas, i have a show tonight
BrendanInMusic: sweet.
BrendanInMusic: so i think there was some kind of announcement today
BrendanInMusic: hmmm
beehindkelyseyes: I KNOW, I’M NOMINATED FOR 2 GRAMMY’S :-) :-) :-)
beehindkelyseyes: WOOOHOO
BrendanInMusic: congrats
BrendanInMusic: well deserved
beehindkelyseyes: thank you
BrendanInMusic: gwen is some stiff competition
BrendanInMusic: think you can take her?
beehindkelyseyes: haha :-) probably not, but i’m happy to be nominated so i’ll take that :-)
BrendanInMusic: so polite
BrendanInMusic: you must be from the south
beehindkelyseyes: no just realistic
beehindkelyseyes: :-)
BrendanInMusic: you seem so grounded, has the fame got to you at all?
BrendanInMusic: maybe 5% diva now?
beehindkelyseyes: not really, i’m too busy for all the smoke and mirrors stuff
beehindkelyseyes: haha, maybe 7%
BrendanInMusic: sweet
BrendanInMusic: you’ve been touring like crazy
BrendanInMusic: you like to play live?
beehindkelyseyes:
i love touring and playing live shows, it’s the best part of my job
beehindkelyseyes: there’s nothing like having a crowd singing your songs with you, it’s an amazing feeling
BrendanInMusic: so tell me about your upcoming show in san jose?
beehindkelyseyes: well, i wasn’t happy with my performance there, because i was ill, and i’m excited to give everyone there a great show. i want people to see me at my best, not just getting by
BrendanInMusic: so you’re playing a make up show for everyone that went the first time?
14] beehindkelyseyes: yep, everyone that came to that show gets free tickets to this one because i think people should get what they pay for and that show there was not good enough for my standards, so… i’m coming back for free
BrendanInMusic: you’re so good to your fans, maybe that’s why you have so many.
BrendanInMusic: oh and i guess the songs dont hurt either
beehindkelyseyes: i don’t want to just sell tickets, i want to build a fan base that loves coming out to see a great live show
beehindkelyseyes: haha, yeah, hopefully people like the music …that’s always good :-)
BrendanInMusic: so i have been listening to this new band
BrendanInMusic: some guy named graham colton
BrendanInMusic: heard of him?
beehindkelyseyes: haha, yes
BrendanInMusic: i’m told heis pretty hot
BrendanInMusic: what do you think?
beehindkelyseyes: i’ve heard of him :-)
beehindkelyseyes: yes, he’s cute :-)
BrendanInMusic: is that all the info we’re gonna get?
beehindkelyseyes: pretty much :-)
BrendanInMusic: so i read a quote about you being the next cher
BrendanInMusic: cal you elaborate?
beehindkelyseyes: RIGHT ON! i love cher
BrendanInMusic: or tell us why you think you have such a huge gay following?
beehindkelyseyes: i have no idea why i have a huge gay following?? i think it’s awesome though, they’re the greatest fans to have at a show, they sing along to everything and are always into the show, i love it!
BrendanInMusic: speaking of cher…
BrendanInMusic: who’s hotter graham colton or sonny bono?
beehindkelyseyes: haha, i’m gonna go with graham
BrendanInMusic: ok, the video for because of you
BrendanInMusic: very autobiographical in nature
BrendanInMusic: i’m told
BrendanInMusic: is it hard for your family to watch
BrendanInMusic: ?
beehindkelyseyes: yes, but don’t get me wrong i have a great family. but everyones family has their own drama and the song is about breaking that cycle and not carrying it on to the next generation. kids are like sponges, and they immitate what they see. and sometimes that’s not fair because what we see is not good for us.
BrendanInMusic: agree. do you think the video has helped some kids deal?
beehindkelyseyes: yes, fans are always coming up to me about that video. but what’s even cooler is that parents are coming up to me and telling me how much the song has affected them as well. it’s amazing how God works through people we don’t even know to change us and help us. it’s awesome
BrendanInMusic: thats great.
BrendanInMusic: seems like the fan reaction to addicted is really strong too
BrendanInMusic: whats so special about that song?
beehindkelyseyes: i love addicted! it’s my favorite song on my record. fans like it too, it’s always one that everyone sings along too. i think it’s because it’s such an intense idea and emotion. everyone knows what it’s like to be “addicted” to someone or something that’s not good for us but it’s just so hard to break the habit
BrendanInMusic: (i had to ask b/c it is brendan’s favorite song)

BrendanInMusic: you’re about to start on your first european tour…excited?
beehindkelyseyes: way to go brendan! i love you more now :-)
BrendanInMusic: you’re about to start on your first european tour…excited?
beehindkelyseyes: definitely! i just did my first show in europe a week ago and it went so well, i can’t wait to do an entire tour. fans overseas are so awesome and so into the show which is great for us
BrendanInMusic: tell us about walk away, i hear it is your next single
BrendanInMusic: what is that, #5 from this record?
BrendanInMusic: almost as succesful as justin guarini
BrendanInMusic: :-)
BrendanInMusic: kidding
beehindkelyseyes: yes, walk away is the next single and i’m really excited about it because it’s very ‘me’. it’s soulful rock and it’s fun to sing. i just wrote the concept for the video and can’t wait to shoot it. it’s going to be fun
beehindkelyseyes: yep, it’s the 5th single. the record is doing so well that it scares me sometimes. i keep waiting for something bad to happen, not really but it does cross my mind every once in a while
BrendanInMusic: can you give us a sneak peek ofthe concept of the video?
beehindkelyseyes: um… no because that would ruin it, but it’s going to be different from any other video i’ve done.
beehindkelyseyes: it’s going to be a fun video
BrendanInMusic: ok, guess we’ll have to wait

beehindkelyseyes: they’re really nice guys and so is hilary
BrendanInMusic: so a duet of lifestyles of the rich and famous is still a possibility?
beehindkelyseyes: i have no beef with anyone, i’m not that kind of person to worry or get involved with stuff like that
beehindkelyseyes: haha, probably not. that song was out forever ago
BrendanInMusic: any new years resolutions?
beehindkelyseyes: no, i don’t believe in those. i figure that’s just setting myself up to fail, haha :-)
BrendanInMusic: dont think you have to wrry about that too much

beehindkelyseyes: yeah, i dig the hair. very rock

BrendanInMusic: waht’s next? movies, flamenco dancing, buy an island???
beehindkelyseyes: how did you know?! i am going into flamenco dancing, it’s awesome you should try it :-) …okay, no i’m not. i’m working on the 3rd album right now while touring the rest of the world with “breakaway”, that keeps me pretty busy for now :-)
